New Study Shows Celebrities Are Key Distributors of COVID-19 Misinformation on Social Media

During the coronavirus pandemic, it is imperative to have all of the facts; however, based on a report from Reuters, it appears celebrities are contributing to the massive amounts of mis-information spread online. While platforms such as Facebook and twitter are working behind the scenes to keep up, users are also trusting celebrities and sharing to their own networks, which further validates false claims. This article outlines the different types of information, from images, data points, stories and more, to help us identify them quicker and stop the spread.
